Apple cider vinegar is the primary liquid used in our formula because of its ability to create a lovely lather, chelates (clarifies) minerals and hard water and most importantly oils trapped on the hair and does so gently.
Not A Strip Bar is also clearly a gentle option for co-washers who typically don’t shampoo often but prefer a more natural option. Try our shampoo bar and you will find it’s the best shampoo alternative for all hair textures.
You will use a shampoo bar a little differently than a regular shampoo for your hair.
Original Formula ingredients: Sodium canolate, acetum, glycerin, sodium castorate, sodium mango butterate, sodium lactate, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, hydroxypropyltrimonium honey and sodium sunflower seedate.
Aloe & Activated Charcoal ingredients: vegan formula. Sodium canolate, acetum, Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut oil, Caustic Soda,Castor oil, Mango Seed Butter, Sunflower oil, Meadowfoam oil, Glycerine, Sodium Lactate, Activated Charcoal, Aloe.
Oil based ingredients properties alter during the soap making process and will not leave buildup on your hair.
“Not A Strip Bar” contains none of these: Sulfates, parabans, silicones or phosphates and is colour-safe.

Our Essential Oils Blends ~Discover What You Need
Rosemary and Mint: Once the bar is lathered the rosemary and mint essential oil fragrance will heighten your senses. This wonderful combo will stimulate the scalp with the tingle of the peppermint sensation and rosemary which will strengthen the hair strand stimulate and promote hair growth, promotes shininess and reduces dandruff. This bar is a great hair tonic for your hair.
Sweet Orange: The delicious mild scent of sweet orange essential oil treats dry, irritated scalp and helps eliminate dandruff. Vitamin C nourishes the hair and scalp and follicles making them thick and strong.
Lemongrass: A very popular ingredient in so many haircare formulas we had to add this to our wonderful line-up to help customers who struggle with oily scalps. This additional essential oil will help absorb excessive oils and reduces the production of excessive oils and also promotes healthy luster and shine. Because our bars are sulfate free you will find they will not over-stimulate the sebaceous glands reducing the oil production for those with oily scalps.
Lavender & Vanilla: Aside from the wonderful calming fragrance that will envelop you as you begin your shampoo routine, these tw0 essential oils have amazing benefits. Lavender promotes hair growth and prevents thinning. Vanilla strengthens the hair strand and and promotes hair growth as it encourages blood flow on the scalp.
Lime & Himalayan Sea Salts: Lime essential oil encourages hair growth and encourages hair growth like all of our soaps. But the addition of Himalayan Sea Salts helps to loosen and dissolve product buildup and dandruff. Pink Himalayan Sea Salts absorbs excessive oil and moisture to prevent reduce flaking and dandruff.

Steps to Using a Shampoo Bar to Cleanse or Clarify
- Rub bar in palm of your hands to create lather.
- Put the bar soap aside and rub your palms together to create lather.
- Use fingertips to cleanse scalp.
- Scrunch lather in from ends to roots.
- Repeat the lather process by rubbing soap together into your palms as many times as needed to create the lather to wash all of your hair.
- Gently finger rake lather through hair and pinch lather into ends to remove any buildup resting on those ends. You will find where the hair is the driest is where oils and buildup will rest the most. To preserve the ends from fraying and splitting and promote healthy growth and preserve your length—don’t forget this step!
- Rinse well and repeat if necessary; follow with your conditioner.

You will use a shampoo bar a little differently than a clarifying shampoo for curly hair.
For all hair types from straight, wavy to curly.
Usually textured hair will find you using products with oils to help you feel your hair is hydrated and tame. But these products that usually contain high concentrations of Shea, coconut and caster oil over time will have these ingredients creating the same effects as silicones will on the hair.
Straight and finer hair textures will love our gentle formula leaving hair feeling fresh and clean. Sulfates in liquid shampoos are very harsh on finer textures and leave hair dry, stripped and frizzy.
When curls are frizzy more tangles and limp, it’s time to clarify!
What happens over time is products, environment, hard and soft water will leave a layer of buildup on hair. You need to clarify and deep clean to remove this. If you don’t, your moisturizing products (conditioner and leave-in) will layer on top of the buildup and therefore unable to penetrate to provide the moisture your hair needs to provide frizz control!
We recommend clarifying once or twice a month to keep those curls popping! Perfect time for deep conditions is right after clarifying so the moisture can penetrate unfettered by buildup.

You can replace your shampoo with our bar and we do recommend if you are a person who co-washes (uses a conditioner to wash your hair instead of shampoo) we want you to use our bar to clarify your hair at least once a month. Give your hair and scalp a healthy reset! This will keep your hair always receptive and responsive to conditioners, treatments and your stylers! Less is more so rub the shampoo bar between the palms of your hands 3 – 4 times then set aside. Rub palms together and see the lather multiple. Wash roots, mid shaft to ends always. Rinse well and repeat as necessary. This is the healthiest way to clarify your curls with a kick of ACV to help remove all hard water, mineral deposits and oils.
